CCRG: September Meeting Rundown

By Casey Wilson

This weekend saw the semester’s first meeting of the Children’s Culture Reading Group. We kicked things off in style — Toya even made a cake in the shape of a castle! (It was awesome. And delicious.) We spent some time sharing books in the realm of children’s culture we had encountered recently that we found interesting — from YA novels to adult nonfiction:

Our next meeting will come at the end of October, so that we can take full advantage of celebrating Halloween! Start thinking of your costume now. Our theme for October is Neil Gaiman, so read one or more of his books and come prepared to discuss the creepiest thing about them. (And anything else that you found interesting. But it’s Halloween, so creepy rules all.)

Full date, time, and other info for the October meeting will come soon. Keep checking back!

Casey Wilson is a PhD student. She’s happy to share the duties of running the CCRG with Toya, especially when it results in remarkable baked goods.
