Saying Farewell, and Announcing a New Endeavor

By Casey Wilson

As the above headline might suggest, the time has come to say goodbye to Kid Lit at UF. It has been a fun few years writing and editing for this blog, but other projects make their demands and so Kid Lit at UF will fade gracefully into the background.

But never fear! We are not abandoning you altogether. If you enjoy the kinds of content we have been publishing here, then you will most definitely want to check out Swampish, the new official blog for the Center for Children’s Literature and Culture here at UF. My colleague (and contributor to this blog!) Mariko Turk has been working hard on getting it off the ground, and I know there is lots of good stuff to come in the weeks and months ahead. You’ll see plenty of familiar names crop up over there — mine included — and maybe even some rerun content from this site. I do hope you’ll join us on that transition.

Casey is a PhD candidate who looks forward to writing for Swampish!

Apologies for the interruption

By Casey Wilson

As the title says — I apologize for the interruption in the blog this week. The posts I had scheduled didn’t go up on time (or at all, it seems) so we had another unexpected hiatus. I’m going to take the weekend to troubleshoot, and we’ll be back in action next Tuesday!

Scheduling Update

A quick note: posting might be a little light here for the next two weeks, as the summer semester draws to a close. But we’ll still have plenty to talk about, so do keep checking back, and we’ll return to our normal schedule very soon!

Schedule Update

The blog will be taking this week off, as many of us are traveling up to Boston for ChLA. We’ll be back to our regular schedule next Tuesday (June 19) – hopefully with some reports from the front lines of children’s literature scholarship!

Spring Break!

By Casey Wilson

Much to the relief of everyone here at the blog, it is spring break this week at our fine institution. We’re going to take the week off from posting, but will be back on Tuesday, March 13 — bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, and feverishly excited about The Hunger Games film.

Schedule Update

By Casey Wilson

Because the winter break here at UF is finally upon us, the blog will be dropping down to one entry a week over the next month. Look for the weekly entry to go up on Wednesdays at noon.

We’ll return to our regular Tuesday/Thursday schedule on January 10. We may even have a few surprises up our sleeves as the spring semester begins…please stick around to find out!

Happy Thanksgiving!

By Casey Wilson

The blog is taking the day off for Thanksgiving — we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled programming on Tuesday.

But before signing off, I’d like to take a moment to say that I am sincerely thankful for everyone who has checked out our blog, and am especially grateful for the amazing contributions from the other children’s literature graduate students here at UF. This blog couldn’t exist without all of you. Have a wonderful holiday!
