  1. This is a wonderful blog. Just found it by luck and posted a link on my blog. Having been watching the movie and reading the Wizard of Oz to my 6 year old I too was struck for the first time by the fact that Dorothy’s wish was to return home…I always appreciated the sentimentality in the story, but for some reason this past viewing with my 6 year old I was thinking, ‘Actually, this Oz place is pretty darn cool…I think I’d want to stay!’ I was happy to see that issue discussed in the essay on the site.
