Children’s Literature Royalty

By Casey Wilson

A short entry today, but a nice one, I think. This photograph was making the rounds on Twitter last week, courtesy of a tweet by @mariatlambert:

If you can’t tell, that’s Dr. Seuss, Judy Blume, and Maurice Sendak. It’s a photo taken by Jill Krementz, the wife of Kurt Vonnegut. According to Judy Blume’s Twitter feed, it was taken in 1978. The giveaway? Her chipped tooth, which came from biting a pretzel the day before.

I’ve no witty commentary to add. Just a lovely picture of some dearly beloved pioneers of children’s literature to share.

Casey is a PhD student.
